On Sunday, June 2, National Gun Violence Awareness day more than 40 of our GAGV supporters joined us at the J.C. Nichols Fountain to demonstrate against gun violence. As you can see – we had some great signs – and got lots of positive honks and high fives. Even the police came to protect us!
The video was created by Madison Mustoe, a multi-talented graduating senior from Shawnee Mission East High School. The three-minute video emphasizes the critical need for gun owners to safely store all firearms in their homes.

Professor Donald Hedier-Markel spoke at our January 28, 2019 meeting and illustrated how the attitudes of gun owners have shifted through the years, and how much more active politically and financially they are than non – gun owners. See his presentation below.
GAGV was represented at the Dec. 14 vigil commemorating the 6th anniversary of Sandy Hook. Got lots of “honks” showing support for the cause. Hoping 2019 will be a turning point for serious conversation and action re sensible gun regulation. Six years after the tragedy we are still waiting.
